Camporee 2018 More Last Second Info

Apologies for multiple “last” messages.  Here are a few more things Staff wanted you to be aware of.

For those receiving this email for the first time, welcome to the Pacifica District email distribution list.  This list is used to share information on District activities to help us all be more successful in delivering the promise of Scouting.

New Additions / Late Notes

  • Troops hosting morning events:  You need to provide your own score sheets.  Estimate 50 patrols.  Just in case we need more, send a digital copy to Joe Mundi (joe@mundifamily.com)
  • Trash: Expect that you will need to take your trash out and dispose on your own.
  • Golden Pie Tin & Spoon: Will be graded in three different categories each:  Taste, Presentation and Originality.  Please make sure your Patrol Name and Unit number are on your entry.  Please identify any dishes with Nuts or Shellfish included.
  • Saturday Afternoon Troop 555 is running a Frisbee Soccer tournament.  It would help them plan if Troops could reach out to event youth coordinator Micheal Gartland (hbscouts@verizon.net)
with a tally of your Patrols that would like to participate.  Include Patrol Names if possible.  Teams range from 5-10 people with 5 being on the field at one time.
  • Guide updated one more time.  Added Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner to the schedule.  (-:
  • Late and Early arrivals.  Please make sure your late or early arrivals understand they will NOT be able to drive into the park and there may be no one at the entries to guide them.

Things we still need

  • You need to register!  Please do so no later than Tuesday 10am.  We need this information BEFORE we can assign campsites.  https://orangecounty.camp-master.com/default.aspx
  • We NEED confirmation on a qualified volunteer to staff our First Aid area
  • Webelos are invited to visit AND play events on Saturday (updated).  Please let Joe Mundi know if you plan to come for the day.
  • Troops need to review the Managing Guide and Notes Below
  • IOLS and Baloo have two registrations.  One for the training, the second for camping.  You need to do both if attending training.

Things to Note in the Camporee Guide

Things We Need You to Know and Support

  • New Request: Troops please bring something to be shared at Friday Night’s Cracker Barrel.
  • New Note: In years past Gateway projects have been littered with yellow caution tape.  Please only use yellow caution tape on true hazards, not the end of every pole.
  • We have a large 30 cup coffee maker and will have Coffee and fixings available for all ADULTS in the morning to share.  We will not share with youth participants.
  • We will have an area to charge devices, but will not provide any security function for your devices.
